Shela Nguyen (they/them)

Clinical Therapist Intern

TL;DR: Kindness, authenticity, and humor are essential when connecting with people, both personally and professionally. I will show up as my genuine self to foster a safe space for you to explore yourself, with the hope that you will also connect with your authentic self.

Availability: Monday (12 PM - 5 PM) and Wednesday (11 AM - 4 PM), Decatur location

Hi! My name is Shela (they/them). I’m grateful for your curiosity to explore your mental health and for your consideration in working with me. I am currently an intern in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grounded Wellbeing. I am interested in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults as they confront and navigate life’s stressors, interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, and self-identities. I am also interested in working with the LGBTQ+ and Asian-American communities, as these identities are part of who I am. Despite my special interests, I am open to working with individuals from all walks of life. My advocacy looks like sitting across from you, whoever you are and however you identify, to provide a safe space where you can talk, laugh, and cry.

My approach is - You are the expert of your life and lived experiences. We will work together to help you reach your therapeutic goals. Think of me as your passenger as you navigate the winding roads of life. Since connection is vital for healthy dynamics, I’ll share my story with you if you’re curious or if I believe it’s helpful for your healing.

If you’d like to connect, feel free to book a free 15-minute consultation with me using this link here.

Cheers to self-exploration!
