Geek Therapy is a therapeutic approach that centers elements of geek and pop culture to facilitate self-exploration and identity, skills development, and support over all mental health well-being. At Grounded Wellbeing, our resident geek therapist, Lance, uses fantasy and play to work through what brings their clients to counseling, often utilizing games, or discussing themes in their favorite cartoons and anime. Geek Therapy recognizes and leverages the strong connections to various aspects of geek culture, such as video games, comics, movies, TV shows, fantasy literature, and other forms of entertainment. Geek Therapy can also be conducted in group settings, where individuals with similar interests come together to explore shared themes and support each other's personal growth.
